Hey, you! Yeah, you swiping aimlessly through Tinder profiles on your phone. Obligaswiping just might be the worst millennial dating trend of them all, so cut it out. Obligaswiping be damned. It was exhausting and, at times, excruciatingly boring.

Metrics details. Online dating has become increasingly popular over the years. Few research studies have examined the association between dating apps and disordered eating. In this study, we evaluated the association between dating app use and unhealthy weight control behaviors UWCBs among a sample of U. Our sample includes adults who completed an online survey assessing dating app use and UWCBs in the past year.
UWCBs included vomiting, laxative use, fasting, diet pill use, muscle building supplement use, and use of anabolic steroids. These findings were supported by results of additional gender-stratified multivariate logistic regression analyses among women and men. While additional longitudinal and representative research is needed, public health professionals ought to explore dating app use as a potential risk factor for UWCBs.

Results showed that compared to non-users, those who used dating apps had significantly elevated odds of UWCBs.

For those who do read my blog which from my WordPress stats I can tell is a very select few people I have not written on here for a while. I have been in a very different place to where I was when I wrote Identification. For now, let me write that it essentially boils down to being human. September arrived, and time was running out fast for me to get it together. I was a walking emotional crime scene. I felt I was too dependent, clingy, and unsure of myself to be loved. Nobody would stick with this. There was no constant in my life—except myself. Based on this fact, I made a decision to shut the world out indefinitely. Finally, the time had come for me to find genuine independence and stability—whatever that meant.
The first few weeks were rough.
